Corroding Circuit Boards Behind Recall of 193,000 Chevrolet Vehicles
According to an ABC News Report, General Motors (GM), in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is recalling 193,652 vehicles due to a circuit board corrosion problem that can endanger passengers.
Allegedly, fluid can leak into the driver door’s module, causing corrosion and leading to a short in the circuit board. If this happens, multiple outcomes are possible, including broken power window switches and power door locks, melting components, smoke, and fire.
Vehicles included in the recall include:
- 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXTs
- 2006 GMC Envoy XLs
- 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazers
- 2006-2007 GMC Envoys
- 2006-2007 Buick Rainiers
- 2006-2007 SAAB 9-7xs
- 2006-2007 Isuzu Ascenders
